Snow

It snowed overnight! Tim was so excited when he looked out the window! The first snow of the season!

It was just getting light; beautiful white snow falling everywhere. Not so heavy, he could already see all the way to Penske’s! Snow! Snow everywhere! He rushed into his clothes and downstairs.

Grabbing bread and peanut butter he stood by the door watching and planning. His sled was already outside. He brought it up from the cellar as soon as it started getting cold out. Mom told him it wouldn’t be snow for “quite a while.” But he wanted to be ready.

As he watched the wind started blowing snow right toward the window he was looking out. He could already see a drift next to the garage. It wasn’t too windy, just gusts here and there. He had to plan his outside outfit.

He started with leggings, of course, then boots, heavy jacket, a warm hat, a scarf. He knew it all from last year, when he finally got old enough to use a sled all by himself. Unfortunately, very close to the end of winter, so he didn’t get very many days then. So exciting, so much fun, and he was finally old enough to do it all by himself!

Gloves! He would need his best gloves to hold onto the sled. Where had he put them? Dad got them for him just for snow days. They were extra thin, but also extra warm to keep his fingers warm. Found them!!!

Off he ran, out the door! Grabbing his sled on the way, he ran into the lovely white snow! But unfortunately, it stopped snowing, and the snow was not even a half inch deep!

Ah well… it will probably snow again tomorrow! After all it was only October!
