This is a poem I wrote for my best friend... I don't think she'll ever get to read it!
I never knew what I wanted till I met you
I never knew how weak I truly was till you.
I never knew the power of silence,
The weight of words unspoken.
I never knew how much I could give,
How little I had left.
I never knew what love could do,
How it hurt,
Twisted like a knife.
I never knew you could change me like this,
In ways I don’t understand.
I never knew how having a friend that close Could take over your life I think of you constantly Wondering what you’re doing How you’re doing If you care, Wondering if I matter to you as much as you do to me.
I never knew that friendship could feel like a pull, Like gravity that keeps me tied to earth, Both heavy and light at the same time.
I never knew how much I needed you until I found myself lost when you weren't around.
