One foot

other foot

One foot

other foot.

A step at a time, and a breath falling weak.

Adrenaline tired, and our mindset is steep.

We start to talk,

maybe the chatter will awaken

and we will converse, benign.

Leaves rustle, animals sing

and our laughter becomes relevant above it all.

Knowing each other,

word by word

laugh by laugh

and step by step.
