Santa has some very special friends 300 words
Christmas Wish

“What do you want for Christmas?” asked the department store Santa as he helped the little boy onto his lap.

“My name is Aaron; and I only want one thing.”

“Only one?”

The boy nodded his head.

“I want to ride a bike, but with these on I can’t!”

He pulled up his pant legs to reveal braces.

“I see,” said Santa

“My mom and dad say they know about the special bikes they make for kids like me, but that we can’t afford one. You see, I’ve had lots of operations too.”

“I understand. Tell you what, I’ll see what I can do,” Santa said as he handed him a candy cane.

When he took his next feeding the reindeer break, Santa called some friends. They assured him they would get Aaron what he needed at no cost. This made Santa especially happy.

Christmas morning, Aaron waited patiently for his special bike. By lunch time, it still wasn’t there. Then the doorbell rang. Two men in funny red hats were standing there with a shiny red mobility bike. With a shout of joy, Aaron got help from them to climb on.

He raced at top speed up and down the hall until he was dizzy from the turns.

“Thank you so much, gentlemen! Who do we thank?” his parents gushed.

“The Royal Order of Shriners. We helped disabled children all over the world. If you never need anything, here’s our number,” the tallest one said handing them a card.

About to leave, the two men were almost bowled over by a breathless boy as he stopped inches from their toes.

“Thank you, red hat men! Do you work for Santa?”

“Sometimes,” said the other man as he shook Aaron’s hand.

“I knew it! They’re elves," he whispered.
