Getting through Thanksgiving season can be difficult. Know that some do not celebrate it. |
Today is the day before Thanksgiving, and I am up thinking about this day and tomorrow, knowing that many will not wake up to the smell of turkey roasting, cakes backing, hams in the oven, or sweet potato and pumpkin pies—not by choice, but because of their circumstances. So today, I give thanks for the blessings that God has bestowed on so many of us, and I ask that each of us remember those who are less fortunate, not only on Thanksgiving but every day. I ask that we find the strength to share our bounty with someone else, for it will be through the sharing and giving that true thanks will be given. To those who have and those who do not, be thankful for life and what God has given you. It may not be easy to be grateful when so much is made about having dinner, family gatherings, and more, but trust me when I say that looking in is sometimes prettier than the reality of what is within. The truth may be that it has much to do about nothing. Thanksgiving is a long tradition in America, and it is a time to gather with family and friends, so if you can do that, do it. If not, no, that you are not alone, and that God loves you the same on Thanksgiving Day as he did the day before and will the day after. Whether I have ever met you or not, know that I love you and wish you the best every day of the year. HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE MILES FAMILY TO YOU, WHERE EVER YOU MAY BE. Peace and blessings to you and yours always. |
