THE WHITE DOG

Seeing a white dog in a dream symbolizes a strong connection of loyalty and unconditional trust & guidance between family members.

Silas missed Thanksgiving due to being busy at WSU preparing for finals. We missed him terribly but agreed with his decision to finish strong.

I called him last night after returning home from our "Big Fat Greek" family dinner at Serah & Teddy's home. As we chatted, Silas mentioned he had a weird dream about a dog, I told him that I also had a strange dream the previous evening about a white dog. The phone went silent for a moment as he astonished me as he replied that the dog in his dream was also white!

Today, my mind drifts way back to the first of Silas's parent-teacher conferences when he was a four-year-old preschooler. His grades were classified as O-S-N, outstanding, satisfactory and (not-getting it). I was shocked to see his report full of "N's). Damn! I was hopeful that he was going to be smart like his older siblings. Oh well, I guess Silas is just going to be an" Ordinary "kid.

Flash forward eighteen years, Silas has always been near the top academically at every level. He graduated high school with honors, receiving both an associates of science from Olympic College and high school degrees simultaneously. He chooses to skip both graduations because he didn't consider either much of an accomplishment. -his goals were much higher.

Silas's co-workers wanted to know, "Why don't you drink alcohol?" He replied, "My dad told me not to." Do you do everything your dad tells you? "Yeah, pretty much."
You see Silas's dad has nothing against alcohol-in fact, he owned bars and restaurants for two decades. The problem is that he had failed miserably in college due to alcohol abuse so was inclined to advise all of his children that academics & booze are a bad combination.

Next Saturday the "White Dog" will be howling wildly alongside the Peterson family as Silas's very proud family joins him as he graduates "Magna-Cum-Lauda" with degrees in computer science and mathematics from WSU.

Thank you to all organizations, extended family, teachers and friends who supported Silas during his j academic journey. Silas has proved that he is very far from Ordinary!

Oh, Jeez! A lady walking a big beatiful white dog just passed by our living room window as I was finishing writing this story! There is definitely something spiritually cosmic going on.
