I'm not who you think I am.
If I were the person you think I am, I'd be great.
I would light up the room just by walking in,
And my every word would change fate.
You call me talented and incredibly smart,
But in my mind, it feels like I'm just playing a part.
An imposter in my own story,
Truly I've been blessed.
I can make you happy by not being me,
All while I'm under duress.
But that all stops now,
I'm no longer a part of this play.
Starting today this life is my own,
I no longer care about what you say.
An actor I am no more,
Instead, an author writes on the page.
Word by word I make my name my own,
Even if no one knows that it's being done.
I'm going to become who I want to be,
And my journey's just begun.
