Three protogens go on a road trip...
Prologue

Pikefin: “Alright, we’re rolling!”
Comet: “Hey everyone, Comet here from Pikefin’s crappy car-”
Pikefin: “It’s not crappy, it’s an antique!”
Comet: “Dude, it’s literally broken down on us three times now.”
Pikefin: “Dude, I’m literally the one driving and I can kick you out whenever I want-”
Pax quietly: “Do you two always have to be like this?”
Pikefin and Comet: “Yes.”
Comet: “Besides, it probably wouldn’t be as interesting if we all got along one-hundred percent of the time.”
Pax: “Yeah, but-”
Pikefin: “Anyways, I just had the idea to record some of our journey of into the unknown while forging stronger bonds and-”
Comet: “Either that, or we’ll be seeing who kills the other first.”
Pikefin: “Well I personally couldn’t live without either of you guys. If one goes, we all go.”
Comet: “Bet. Blood oath, right now.”
Pax: “Absolutely not!”
Pikefin: “I hate to say it, but I have to agree with Pax on this one, at least till we’re off the road. Do you know how hard it is to get blood {}out of these seats?”
Pax: “Is that really your biggest concern? The seats?”
Pikefin: “Of course not, it’s just-”
Comet: “Holy shit, guys!”
Pikefin: “What is it?”
Comet: “What do you mean ‘what is it,’ look!”
Pikefin: “...Whoa... Is that...”
Comet: “Yes! A spaceship!”

Chapter One

Comet didn't stop saying “holy shit” even as they got out of the car.
         “Holy fucking shit!” Comet repeated.
Pax groaned, “Comet, why are you so excited about a spaceship?”
“That’s no spaceship from this planet, I just know it.”
“And how do you know that?” She asked, more curious than anything.
Pikefin speaks up, a bit excited at his realization, “Comet’s training to be in the space force, remember? So does that mean...”
Comet speaks again, his tail wagging behind him, “I know what our ships look like, and that was not one of ours, holy shit...”
The space had disappeared into the deep woods by the road they drove on before the three protogens managed to get out of the car, but Comet claimed it had been landing not far from where they parked the car.
Pax shook her head in disbelief, “Comet, we are not going to go looking for it.”
Comet became bewildered, “What do you mean we aren’t? We might never see another again!”
“You’re joining the space force, I’m sure you’ll see plenty of foreign ships.”
“Yeah, when I’m in space, trying to kill them. But we don’t know the intent of whatever just landed here!”
“Exactly! They might want to kill us!”
It surprised Pikefin to hear Pax speak so loudly, as normally she was the quietest of the group. He tried to comfort her, “I know you’re worried they might try to hurt us, but we don’t have to go and interact with them. We could just take a look and return to the car.”
Comet groaned, “Pikefin, come on, you’ll never get another chance!”
Pikefin sighed, “I hate I’m always the deciding factor...” He turns to Pax, “We’ll be right back, okay?
Pax looks at the two of them, conflicted, before finally speaking up, “If you two aren’t going to change your minds... then I’m coming with you.”
         Comet looks surprised, “Really?”
“Yep... If one goes, we all go...” Pax sheepishly smiled at Pikefin.
Comet starts taking steps forward, “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”
Pax looks over at Pikefin nervously, and he smiles, “We’ll be alright. Now, let’s not let that idiot get himself into trouble by himself, alright?”
Pax can’t help but smile back, “Alright...”
And so the three of them entered the forest, never to be seen again.
