A poem for my wife
Whenever you think of me, just know,
I’m caught in the same soft undertow.
My thoughts drift gently, wrapped in you,
Hoping your love feels even a fraction true.

For if your heart holds even half the fire,
That burns within me, this endless desire,
Then that, my love, would be enough,
To make life's trials seem less rough.

I do not need the stars or sky,
Or promises written in the clouds up high.
Just a glimmer, a fleeting flame,
To whisper that you feel the same.

For in your gaze, the world stands still,
And every breath bends to your will.
If you love me, even a little, you see,
That alone would set my spirit free.

So when you think of me, just know,
Through time and space, my thoughts still flow.
Hoping, waiting, with bated breath,
For your love to save me from this depth.

And if it’s less than what I give,
It matters not, for I’ll still live,
In the quiet peace of knowing true,
That I gave my all, my heart, to you.
