Rogue shifter kidnapped academic students including the twins.
Note: The story will follow this setting but it will be a little different. So that it can flow with the post-war story. For instance, he does not know they are his cousins. Plus I was forced to end post-war 2 early because of size restrictions I will bring them together don't worry.

Norman Grey was chasing a rogue shifter that was causing trouble in Dweomer. The shifter managed to capture a few academy students. Including two of his cousins. The Shifter then forced the hostages through a rift.

During the chase, The lord magi teacher tells Norman not to get in his way as he deals with the rogue shifter. Norman did not argue. He made it clear that his concern was his younger cousins who were captured.

As Norman and the others followed the shifter, and students into the rift. The rift closed during their magic fight. Then suddenly no more spells were cast anymore.

Even though both sides are still trying to cast their spells. Everyone soon heard the groans of zombies. That was gathering by the hundreds.

The shifter laughed as he tried to gain control of the zombies. Yet he failed as the zombies continued for both groups. The shifter and his minions then fled and left the hostages. As fodder for the zombies.

Norman's side ran in there to free the students. Before they were turned to zombie food. Norman did not bother with the other students. He was only concerned about his cousins who were twin girls.

Whereas his allies focused on freeing the students from their bounds first. Norman just grabbed his twin cousins and carried them away from the approaching zombies. It was not hard with them being the size of nine-year-olds. Even though they were eighteen. It is both an advantage and disadvantage to be an elf.

Thinking there was no way those guys would lose to the group of fast-approaching zombies. Killing zombies is normal for the DDF. Or Dweomer Defence Force. As it is called.

After he was far enough away to safely drop his cousins for a moment he freed them both with a blade. Then they all started to run together to get farther away.

That is when they started to hear screams. They looked back and saw that the others were in a melee with the zombies. What is going on? There is no way they would lose or be close to losing to a dozen zombies.

Norman was going to run back to help them when his little cousins stopped him. They did not want him to leave them. So he pulled out his gun to shoot some of the zombies. Yet the gun did not fire. We can't use tecno-wizard weapons either it seems.

Even if magic stopped working. It should be nearly impossible to lose this battle. Then again the numbers just keep growing. We rarely ever have to deal with more than twenty zombies at a time. This is rather strange.

What kind of world did we go to? I just hope that we find a way to fix our sudden lack of magic. So he grabbed the girl's hands and started to look for someplace to hide them. Then he would go back to help the others.

My bio-mancer armor is also acting weird. Is this a dead world!? A world with no PPE. Like earth was before the rifts came. We might be in far more trouble than I was thinking.
