Joe Lewis Transcontinental Race in a Horseless Carriage

Joe Lewis Transcontinental Race in a Horseless Carriage

23 Lines

Joe Lewis was one of the founders
Of the automobile industry
He worked for Ford
As a product designer.

He was particularly happy
With the invention
Of the first automobile.

Which was dubbed
The horseless Carriage.

To promote the new vehicle
He participated in a transcontinental
Road race from SF to NYC
Driving 3,500 miles across 30 states.

He won the race
And declared
That the age of the automobile
Was at hand.

Thus ending the old name
Of horseless carriage.

NEW PROMPT: Tomorrow, October 26, is Horseless Carriage Day. Write a story or poem about a ride in a horseless carriage.
