Where life goes beyond death. Or is there death?
LIFE CONTINUES

Life could be very strange at times. There is life here, and then there is life “on the other side.” I knew this because I could see them. I could talk to them. My name is Angela and I am now 30 years old.

It all began at my mother’s funeral. She passed from pneumonia 5 years ago. The Mass was beautiful. It lasted about an hour and there were many people in attendance. After Mass, we went on to the Cemetery of Angels, where she would rest forever. We were at the graveside and the priest was saying the final prayers, when I looked over at something that caught my eye. It was a little girl standing just about 15 feet from us. She was lovely and about 8 years old. Long curly blonde hair with a large blue bow in it. She wore a blue and white dress & she was barefoot. She was smiling and waving to me. Before I knew it, my mother was standing next to her. They began to walk away together, hand in hand, when the little girl turned and blew me a kiss. Then they were gone. Gone just like that. I was stunned and began shaking. What did I just see? How was it possible? There was a man next to me who caught me as I almost fell to the ground. He took me back to the car and asked what happened? How did I feel? Was I sick? I was still shaking and decided to tell him the truth. He smiled and said, “Life here isn’t the only place that life is. When we pass, it is merely a passing from one life to another.” I don’t know who this man was or where he came from, but I touched his face ever so gently and it felt like velvet. I turned to see if the funeral had ended, and when I turned back, the man was gone. I never heard the car door shut. It was like, POOF, he was gone.

After the cemetery, I came straight home. My dearest friend came through the door. My best friend actually. Laura was 33 years old and we had know each other for quite a long time. She said she saw me leave the cemetery and I looked as pale as I still did. I told her all that had happened. The little girl, my mother and the man who caught me. She listened intently and when I was finished, she said “Except one thing, Angela. There was no man. When I saw you get into the limo, you were alone.” This couldn’t be! I had spoken to him, touched his face. Yet, he just disappeared. Could this all be just me and all the stress I had been going through? Laura felt it was strongly possible. She got me a good shot Grey Goose and told me to lie on the couch and get some rest. She would call me later to see how I was, then she left.

For the first time EVER, I was alone. It was an odd feeling, but I laid on the couch and put my head on the soft pillow that mom had made and drifted off to sleep. I thought I was asleep when I heard something drop in the kitchen. I got up and ran it there only to find that same little girl and her little dog. She was cleaning the kitchen. “What are you doing here,” I said. “Who are you?” She was as sweet as apple pie. That smile melted me. Her reply was, “I’m someone you have always dreamed of. Someone you’ve always wanted in your life.” I just starred at her beautiful green eyes. Oddly, I was not afraid at all, and I knew this child was not of this world. Yet, she was beautiful, and kind. She picked up her little dog and said, “Don’t you just love him? His name is Rolo, and I’ve had him for quite a long time now.” “Yes, I said. He adorable, but I’m trying to understand who YOU are. Could we sit and talk a bit?” “Of course we can, but Rolo has to eat first.” She then pulled out a can of dog food from her dress pocket, opened it and fed him. We sat at the kitchen table and began to talk. I asked her who she was and where she came from. Her reply was, “My name is Angelina, and I never lived in this world. Rolo never did either. We were never meant to be. I found Rolo by a pond in heaven. He was standing by a rose tree.” So she was from heaven, as was Rolo. I asked her what she was doing in the cemetery earlier and she said, “Waiting for the lady that was buried in the ground.” I told her that was my mother, which she already knew. As we spoke, she told me many things about my mother. She seemed to know so much. As we continued to talk, it was apparent that she knew more than I. We spoke for a long time before she dropped the bomb. She told me that years before I was born, she was. Born I mean. To the same woman. My mother. Shock set in. Oh dear Lord, she was my sister! The sister that I had always wanted. An older sister. A pregnancy my mother had that I never knew of. My mother lost her at birth. She named her Angelina. I looked at this child and that twinkle in her eyes made my heart melt. Suddenly, my mother appeared and told Angelina it was time to go. Mom looked at me and said, “All in due time love. We’ll all be together again, but in the meantime, live your life. Be happy.” She took Angelina (who was holding Rolo) and they were gone.

I woke up to find myself on the couch as though I had never moved. I needed truth.

The next day, I went to the library to see what I could learn. In the old records room, I found out that my mother, Andrea Storme, had an illegitimate child when she was just 19 years old. The baby was stillborn, but she named her Angelina.

Years passed, and my mother married. I was born 2 years later. My father passed when I was 3 years old, and I clearly remember how soft his cheeks were to touch. Like velvet! Yes, the man in the car, was indeed my father.

So there is my proof. I could see them, and I could talk with them. My father, mother, and my sister. I knew in my heart, they would all be there if I needed them, and that one day, we would all be together again.
