Interview with the Protagonists.
`NaNoWriMo Assignment Oct 25

Protagonist Interview.

I sighed as the shuttles carrying the five young individuals had docked with Council Headquarters. These children had brought humanity into the political spotlight without even trying. I was selected to interview them as I was the youngest reporter in the council. All the news outlets believed I would relate to them better than anyone else. I checked my appearance in a nearby hollo-display. I was attractive for a Myragian; ocean blue eyes, smooth marble skin and a figure any female would die for.

The crowd was immense, each shouting questions and concerns over each other but remaining organized. Still, the council security forces kept them at a distance just in case. Seeing this made me more nervous than I already was. If it were not for the promise of a large bonus and a promotion, I would have had someone else do the job.

I cued the AI camera drones and carefully approached the famous five children. “Greetings, I am Pebble-Stone; representing the council worlds media outlets. I have been assigned to interview you as a group when you are ready.”

The five children turned to each other, then their dominant parents before turning to me and giving a court nod. I sighed, relieved that they were just as anxious to get it over with as I was. We all ventured to a private room where we all took a seat and got ourselves comfortable.

My equipment was already set up so I began the interview. “One at a time, how is life for you now? Also, how is it compared to your life prior to these events?”

Again, the five kids turned to each other then back to me before Vada spoke up. “I must admit, I was reckless. I was trying to prove anyone could be of any class and it placed me in danger. Now, I am able to prepare other Dylaxians to pass the tests and trails to get the class and job they desire.”

He turned to Diron who nodded. “I was scared; scared of my lack of connection to The Fold, my overabundance of personality. Now, I can connect to it as a whole or an individual. My telepathic ability had evolved.

He then turned to Princess Kyteen who also nodded. “I thought I was being held back from helping my people. I felt as if I could do more to make life better. Now, I am speaking to people around my age, the future of the kingdom, just as I am.

She nodded to Era who nodded back. “I thought my ability was a curse because I could not control it for long. Now I know that it is a blessing as I did not need to control it but allow it to function like any other part of my form.

She turned to Atrace who also nodded. “I thought that I could find the cure to any illness that existed but that road caused me nothing but pain. Now I diagnose illnesses and let those who are experts in those illnesses find the cures.

I nodded, adding some notes to my data pad. “Again, one at a time, how do you feel your adventure had changed you?”

The five smiled; a good sign. Again, Vada was the first to speak. “My adventure changed me in more way that I can count. Who I thought were my enemies are now my allies, my allies and I are closer than ever and the Governing class is considering rewriting the class system to allow one to train for their desired class.”

He turned to Diron who nodded. “My adventure forever changed me for the better. I am no longer afraid. I am one with my people and humanity. Their ancient ancestors were the powerful psychics who had made us individuals. They taught me how to filter out any background thoughts and work as an individual while still being one with my community.”

He nodded at Princess Kyteen who nodded back. “My adventure too changed me for the better. I now know that the people do not need my help. What they need is my voice to echo their needs; to listen to the children my age and be their voice to the queen. Trust and respect is earned, not entitled by birth.”

She turned to Era who nodded. “My adventure changed me in ways many may find hard to understand. I have been to the world of the Great Creators. I have seen their descendants, all that they had forgotten and gave them the power to rise again with what I now know is my gift. I honestly do not think I will ever, as the humans say, top that.”

She turned to Atrace who also nodded. “My adventure changed me dramatically. I gained incredible knowledge of medicine that will save a lot of lives. I also realized that I am not alone in the fight against illness. I do not have to fight it alone.”

I smiled at that then asked some more basic questions before transmitting the interview to my employers.
