...I am fearfully and wonderfully made...
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Psalm 139:14 NIV

Dear God,

I wanted to let you know how grateful I am to You for creating me. You gave me a heart to love and care for others, hands to do the work you called me to do, a brain to distinguish right from wrong, and feet to walk through the life you gave me.

I remember when my son David said he didn’t think there was a God. I told him to open his anatomy book and see what’s inside our bodies and look at how all the systems simultaneously work and then come back and tell me there is no God. He returned the next week and said, “OK, you win...I guess there is a God.” I know we don't need proof to believe in You: we either do or don't, but sometimes someone whose heart is closed needs a little nudging.

I sometimes don’t take care of myself as I should, and I am truly sorry. I respect You, Father, and one of the ways I can show you is by taking care of the body that my soul dwells in; that the Holy Spirit lives in. I’m so busy looking at everything around me and focusing on the “journey” that I forget to look at the obvious: the miracle of my birth. And through that miracle, you have given me everything I need to share Your love and to witness to others the greatest miracle of all: the birth of your son, Jesus Christ.

Love,

Linda
