Being a wholesome attitude to dealing with monsters under the bed
Lesley stood upon her bed,
Holding Teddy by the paw.
And issued loud, her call to arms.
The others stood in awe.

Masie grab the poker,
And Tommy get the broom.
We have to hunt the monsters,
That are lurking in our room.

They might be in the wardrobe,
Or perhaps beneath the bed.
Should any of you see one,
Then, whack it on the head.

Monsters are very horrible,
They are scaring all the mice.
And even if they weren't, you see,
Their habits, just aren't nice.

They always try to scare us,
So, let us scare them instead.
A whacking with a hairbrush,
Can turn a monster red.

So they all went forth with Teddy,
And drove the monsters away.
Then put away the poker,
Finding other games to play.
