|| A perfect day. [ Creative Writing Assignment. ]
Within a dark night,

there is usually a light.

A memory holder,

a place to retreat.

Light will take many forms.

The sun, a god.

Your phone, a trap.

Some random plane, an escape.

A sign,

or simply to disappear?

To disconnect.

A god to pray for better.

A phone to experience another's life.

A plane to take you far away

whether it's to go anew,

or one of solitude.

Many, a passage way.

Others, dimension.

To fear the unknown, yet draw ourselves to it.

Lanterns, perhaps a street light.

Every step a leaf and flower cracking and ending under you,

only so you can progress,

the epidemy of what we know. Light.

Yellow, White, or the filtered shades of the world

lights guide us.

To comfort,

and through insanity.

To land,

and through panic.

A light is a guide

and a light is something

when there is nothing.

A light may be a memory of strength,

or a memory of what we could not yet understand

however a light can lead you

from what you've not wanted.

A perfect experience.

A perfect day.

Close your eyes,

breathe in the pine around you.

Let your feet drag as you walk,

so you can take a moment to enjoy

what the light provides.

Now open your eyes;

you'll envision benches floating,

the leaves welcoming,

and the petals of decaying flowers

cracking and dying under those dragging feet,

welcoming you into a new light.

Candles lay the ground,

and the flames wisp in your presence.

The light is guiding you, listen to it.

Now when night takes it's break,

and day rises

those candles will be nothing.

As you walk the path, those candles will do nothing--

but the sun will always present you the gift of clear sight.

A perfect judgement.

To see a light is to see hope,

to disconnect from what you deem uncertain.

For you,

light may be a mere anomaly.

To others,

an entire daydream.
