A RICH POOR MAN

It’s a long long way from
from the pen in his fingers
to those words on the paper
where thinking does linger.

Telling stories of a man
whose been so many places
trying hard to remember
just a few of the faces.

So many are gone now
those left are but a few
leaving him memories
searching for what’s new.

Another day into night
once more he is alone
with thoughts of the past
Silver and gold his to own.
