This short story is about a girl who loves nature so much that she dreams about it.
She opened her eyes to the ring of the alarm clock beside her bed. Sitting up, she stretched lazily, reluctant to pull the covers away. "Nancy!", her mother called from the kitchen. "Get your lazy self down here at once!". At that moment she looked out the window and saw the bright blue sky overhead and the green grass underneath. It was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen.

Throwing the covers aside, she got out of bed and rushed downstairs, still in her nightgown. She rushed past her mom, out the front door, and into the yard. The warm morning sun greeted her good morning with a kiss, and the scent of roses still lingered in the air. She breathed it into her lungs greedily. Her barefoot was wet by the sparkles of dew on the grasses. That was where she wanted to be. The tweets and calls of the birds, the bright green grass sprinkled with diamonds of dew sparkling in the bright yellow sun that hung overhead, the butterflies that fluttered by, the blue serene sky, and the cool morning breeze that blew her pink nightgown behind her and lifted her hair from her face. It was indeed a sight to behold!

Suddenly waking up, she realised it had all been a dream! She looked out her window, expecting to see the blue sky and the green grass. But all she saw was a grey sky, with columns of smoke rising into it, and a city where all the houses were crammed together. And there was not a single green in it! It was so irritating. "Oh, when will any of my dreams come true?" she sighed.

NANCY!!!".
