My car has disappeared!
I glanced around all over.
I thought it was right here.
But I had made a big mistake.
It wasn’t even near.

I looked around bewildered.
What happened to my car?
It must be somewhere else nearby.
I didn’t walk that far.

Hey, maybe it’s been stolen.
But who would take that heap?
I’ve had that car for twenty years,
my good ol’ trusty Jeep.

I’m holding up my groceries,
confused as what to do.
The ice cream would be melting soon.
It will turn into goo.

Some folks are looking at me.
They must think I am weird.
But I just stand here stupidly.
My car has disappeared!

Hey, I just had a great thought.
I’ll press the fob alarm.
Sure it will make an awful sound,
but really, what’s the harm?

And then a horn was blasting.
Yeah, right here next to me.
But it did not look like my car.
I thought, how could that be?

And then at once it hit me.
This car that wasn’t mine?
My car was running low on gas.
I took my wife’s this time.

Well, I am so embarrassed.
I really do feel dumb.
(My wife will never hear of this.
I think I’ll just stay mum.)
