Summer Storm

Lightning strikes and thunder cracks
Rain pours down flooding low-lying ground
The wind like the wolf, blowing down the shacks
Leaving the poor piggies fleeing all around

The storm is gone as fast as it came in
Leaving all the destruction visible to our eyes
Knocked down trees, road blocked by a big limb
I look around in shock as the neighbor’s child cries
