An old poem that I wrote and found. Kinda has a fictional backstory? Idk lol
Basically the context is like person A and B were good friends, then person B moves away suddenly and they resume as pen pals. Throughout the letter exchange person B starts sounding more different and speaks in rhythms like "I see you in the moon" stuff but doesn't want to meet when A suggests a meeting place.

Obviously B is in some deep trouble/ situation but A doesn't understand/realise that (they're a bit slow).
So, B decide that they need to handle their problem first and slowly disconnects from A. A thinks differently (misunderstanding) so that's kinda the poem.

A's POV ig: (Also, I kinda made this with an indie/guitar/beat in mind so it's a rhythmic poem? Song poem? Idek hope it helps with immersion)
---
How come I'm in the moon?
How come I'm in the stars?
How come I'm everywhere, but where you are?

How can you do this?
In the letters that you write,
How dare you do this?
In these words I can't reply.

You say that you're alright,
And then you disappear like light!

How could you do this?
When you know I can't come through,
Why would you do this...?
I wish I had replied.

Out of the stories that you told,
Out of the memories that unfold,
In my mind you're always there,
In your writings I'm never there.

How did you do this?
As the letters spill the farther I feel,
Maybe my heart has strings too thin,
No resonance between us now,

Well,

You've become my first regret,
Out of the miracles that we made,
If only I had stayed,
When we still spoke the same language.
