Mike and Wally

My son was such a writer
He loved to tell a tale
His notebook had some scribbles
That looked like a giant whale.

Mike rode on the whale's back in the story
He would shout out loud with glee
And when the whale went way down deep
My son would let it swim free.

Were fun for kids to read
They were friends for a long, long time
Until Wally went to see a whale rodeo stampede.
