Change for No One

You turned my blue sky into rain
you’re the center of the hurricane.
My whole self fragments
I am pieces of a broken down life.

You washed away my paradise
the water rising before my eyes.
Unkind and brutal waves
I watch everything disappear.

I deserted all my past lives
and became someone you can’t revive.
Drowning beneath the surface
you’ve changed me.

I go through the motions
of my emotions.
Stone cold and unfeeling
grieving losses I never knew I had.

I’ve become someone I don’t know
slowing fading into a ghost.
I want to find a way back to me
and come back up for air.

I feel a hand pull me in
the dark side don’t get to win
So here I am, all of me
standing here brave.
