My First Poem

The dew on the grass is glistening
The stars in the sky are twinkling.
The night is as calm
as a sleeping young child.
But distressed is my mind
as it tries to find
a way to rest my soul.

I cannot rest my eyes,
and I do not wish to lie,
but I have an urge to
Run.
