The Lonely lich pt 2

The lich a top his skeletal steed continue his journey, a pilgrimage one might say, to find his new home and hide from the world of the living ,but as we all know problems can come out of nowhere. As the lich rode he saw a structure in the distance a huge stone wall built high and proud to keep the enemies of the Vapon Kingdom out a structure that made the kingdom famous. The lich new the gate he was heading to was one of the lesser used gates leaving it less defended but still the fight would be rough. He at one point got off his steed as he had the horses and skeletons use the forest as cover as he approaches the gate by his lonesome. As the lich approaches the gate he watches as knights are quickly making a formation as the lich sees a squad of 6 footman with there captain in a wedge formation the captain being the tip in the wedge formation. As he saw 6 crossbow men atop the wall ready to provide support for their fellow footman at the gate below. The lich stops a fair distance and says,

“Dear noble knights could you just not let me pass by I have no qualms with you and simply wish to pass through.”

The captain takes his sword pointing it at the lich and says,

“I apologies but I can’t allow such a monster of evil to pass through these gates.”

The lich sighs and say,

“Why must you be so stubborn you know you stand no chance.”

The knight stand there proud as he prepares to give the order to fire for the archers but first says,

“Because evil is everywhere we must all do what we can to extinguish its flame. Archers FIRE!!”

The crossbow men a top the wall fire there arrows as they go to hit the lich the arrows bouncing off a magical barrier protecting the lich as the lich coldly says,

“Well you will find my flame ice cold.”

The lich brings his hands together as ice spikes form around him a grand total 6 ice spikes for 6 foolish crossbow men as he launches his attach getting a direct hit on all men on the wall impaled them in the chest. The men fell to the ground one falling off the wall landing on the ground in the middle of the formation as the men scattered getting closer to the edge of the road in the thick woods. The footmen trembled at the lichs power sending shivers down their spines.

The lich coldly says, “Minions attack while them while they’re distracted!”

From the woods came his small army as they pulled 3 of the 7 remaining enemies into bushes as the skeletons brutally murdered the young inexperienced footmen. Although they had great success some of the skeletons were defeated by other footmen specifically 5 skeletons as the lich readied his next spell while the footmen were distracted with the skeletons as lighting formed in his hands he cast it hitting the captain first as it then spread to the other footmen killing them instantly except for the captain who was on his knees hurt badly. The lich approached the defeated captain and say in a mocking tone,

“Well was it worth the lives of you and your men to fight me?”

The captain looks up at the filthy undead and spit at the undead as the lich then said,

“I see you made you choice.”

The lich takes the captains sword and beheads the captain ending his misery as the captain body falls to the ground as his head rolls. The lich opens his book and prepares to make use of the captains for being able to survive his elemental lightning spell. The lich finds the ritual he wanted to use as it requires a few dead bodies 5 to be exact to make what he was planning. As he casts the spell having the captain being the main catalyst he turns the captain into a headless horsemen a powerful monster who wields deaths axe with a blade so hot it can cut right through armor. As he looks up he sees only one of the dead footmen remaining along with the previous dead bodies being reduced to ash with their weapons being left behind. The lich rises the remaining 7 dead footmen and crossbow men raising them as undead ghouls as he adds them to his small army he decides to see what else he can find eventually finding 5 extra swords in the armory the small outpost had as he opens the gate but not first without taking count of his army

He looked at the weapons available the crossbow men had there ranged weapons along with 15 arrows in total as he had one ghoul footmen with a sword while having 11 extra swords from the dead men. He equipped 11 of the skeletons with swords increasing there effectiveness as he give the headless horsemen one of his skeletal knights as he plans to have him be his right hand for now until he dies or finds something better. As he arranges his small caravan to be behind his journy out of the Vapon Kingdom and enters the Xudo Empire unsure where he shall head next.
