Traveling Is Not My Thing

TRAVELING IS NOT MY THING

They all say traveling is fun
My reply, if only I can
I am not fond of walking
With heavy bags to be carrying.

Standing long at the bus stop
Makes my legs tired, can't get up
Waiting for a taxi on a rainy day
Is really a torture to me.

Riding an airplane is a problem too
Afraid of heights, I don't want to go
Getting the baggage takes a long time
Makes me sick , Oh ! I'm not fine !

See? I am always complaining
No matter where you want me to bring
My husband said, let us go to Spain
No! I can't stand the weather, gives me pain.


I travel the whole world sitting down
Watching TV Travel channel is fun
With a warm coffee , sip after sip
The shows reveal a very nice trip.

As I lay in bed reading a travel book
Enjoying places its every nook
Nice ones I wrote in my notebook
Gave it to our daughter, take a look !

She travels around the world for free
A lawyer, conference speaker, best
hotels she stay
Enjoying fine dining, day by day
Meeting a lot of people, she told me.

I write all the places I wanted to visit
So when I sleep I dream they exist
I travel in France, in Louvre Museum
In the middle of Paris, I roam.

I went to Spain in a city of Valencia
Virgen delos Desamparados , Mama
Maria
I went to Zurich Switzerland eating
Lindt chocolate
My friends Gabi and Andrea Traber
gave me as a gift.

Here I am , sitting at our Veranda
Writing a poem I also called Sonata
About traveling by my paper and pen
I recite the poem and sing the refrain.
