a short poem about getting fed up with a toxic relationship
Six A.M.

It’s six a.m.
I just got in.
Where have I been?
I was out all night searching for you.

Another repeat.
I can’t get any sleep.
How can this be me?
Why else do I endless search for true?

Just got the alert.
Still throwing dirt?
Mischievous flirt!
I’m all over the ice with no thaw.

Somewhere to be.
When can I see?
No misery.
I’m overdue and still can’t withdraw.

You give me shit?
After all this?
So, this is it?
Bottomless gift!

Maybe I learned.
Maybe I yearned.
I should have earned.
Better than this.
