This article promotes steps to healing and reconciliation.
King Charles offered to Prince Harry a chance for peace and reconciliation. He wants to meet his granddaughter - that is a good sign. Will Prince Harry move forward, letting go of the painful past? In healing, the past does resurrect itself over and over and over again. It requires the decision to love and forgive each time. Nobody is perfect. One has to accept others repeatedly.

One way to move past the pain is to get counseling. The tremendous pain and trauma at loosing a beloved family member can inform and shape all of the decisions one makes throughout life, but they might be broken-inform decisions. If one has received counseling, another step that can be taken is family counseling. This will help all of the family members to work more healthily together.

Whether or not others will agree to that step, there are other ways of managing and healing our grief. Sometimes, reading or movies can provide opportunities for healing. The book, “Facing Forgiveness: A Catholic’s Guide to Letting Go of Anger and Welcoming Reconciliation,” (by Loughlan Sofield, Carroll Juliano, Bishop Gregory Aymond - currently Archbishop) even includes a sort of “role playing” should anger be caused by someone who is deceased or someone with whom you cannot reconcile. It might even help you to understand that you have anger about something you were unaware of and it helps you to forgive. Most importantly, it helps you to reconcile with whom one can be reconciled. The Archbishop of Canterbury has a program on his website called, “The Difference Course,” in which, in part, it helps by “equipping you to cross divides, navigates disagreement and pursue a just and flourishing world.” Archbishop Justin Welty wrote, “Reconciliation is not the ending of all difference, but the transformation of how we deal with difference.” One the the essential ingredients he offered is to “be curious: seeing the world through their eyes,” and another step is “reimagine: finding hope and opportunity in places where we long to see change.” Link: https://www.archbishopofcanterbury.org/priorities/reconciliation/difference-cour...

Sometimes a person can connect with and be healed by some part of such a movie. Perhaps one might help?

Chronic traumatic invalidation which occurs over a lengthy time, such as neglect, can cause post-traumatic stress, depression, and even borderline personality disorder. It can be especially difficult when those who one hopes will “hear” him and keep him safe, ignore him. So besides forgiving those who failed him, the person should work through his feelings. Besides therapy, books, and movies, one could also join a support group with whom one could share his feelings and have them understood.

It is important to learn to set boundaries with those who tend to invalidate your feelings. Other positive things to do are exercising, drawing / art, meditation / prayer, journaling, photography, or another hobby.

PsychCentral recommends several therapies as possibilities to overcome traumatic experiences as follows:
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Trauma-Focused CBT
Prolonged Exposure Therapy
Psychodynamic Therapy

Be careful not to allow anyone to hypnotize you.

The Royal Family seems to have a great starting point on which to build trust and understanding. It seems that a reconciliation is desired. And Prince Harry has been able to bring his thoughts out in such a way that he could feel that he has been heard. King Charles, in a sense, has made the gesture of holding his arms open wide to Prince Harry and his family by inviting them to his ceremony and telling him he wants to meet his granddaughter. The world hopes that in whatever time it takes the Royal Family will be unified and happy.
