Seven-year-old Lance Decker Rock sat at the kitchen table with his dad Kevin Decker Rock.
Kevin begins "alright Lance now you know just about everyone now days has an IPHONE and you want one too."
Lance nods with a big smile and huffs out "yeah, yeah."
Kevin told his son "You sound like a happy dog nodding and saying 'yeah' with a slight growl. Now look I know you just had your appendices out and your mother and I want to get you a present."
Lance replied "iPhone" with enthusiasm.
However right after that Kevin responded, "there are lots of people who think that no one under 18 should have an iPhone."
"Well then I won't talk to those people on my iPhone" Lance said and then pouted.
"They hate kids" Lance added and then Kevin replied "my concern is that you will be responsible with it. I am also worried about you losing it. Also, I don't want you doing anything inappropriate with it."
Lance stated firmly "I promise not to do anything inappropriate with it like Barry Wilson did."
That's when Kevin had to ask his son "what exactly did Barry Wilson do?"
Lance answered "well his mom is a friend of the school principal so he got the school principal's phone number because his mom had it. After he got it he took a picture of a kid throwing up on the school playground. When the principal saw that picture she sure complained about it on the school intercom."
Kevin exhaled and asked Lance if he thought that was funny.
Lance shook his head side to side and Kevin responded, "I'd throw a fit over that if I was your school principal. How would you like it if some rotten bratty kid took a picture of you throwing up and it was sent around for everyone to see?"
Lance squirmed "no I would not like that."
That's when Tina Lizzy Rock entered the kitchen and said, "Lance the more I hear about taking a picture of someone throwing up the less I want you to have an iPhone."
"Mom I promise I won't take a picture of someone throwing up" Lance shouted at his mother.
"I hope not" she hollered back at her son.
"Easy now both of you" Kevin said and after that he exhaled.
Then he went on to say, "look Tina the people who say children shouldn't have iPhones are the biggest assholes."
Lance giggled and Tina scolded him but then Kevin firmly stated, "let's go to the store and get Lance his own phone."
"Yes" Lance hollered with joy.
