Driving out Darkness

Even on the darkest night,
when clouds conceal the stars
look for dawn's rising light.

When you look with the eyes of faith,
you will see beyond the shrouds,
beyond the charcoal clouds
that conceal the approaching dawn.

Morning's glorious light
will drive out the fearful night
like the perfume of love
scatters the stench of hate.
