I'd rather be alone.
You know I’m not the social type.
In fact, I’m kind of shy.
You’ll never find me in a crowd;
I’m not that sort of guy.

Most days I’ll just stay in the house.
I’d rather be alone.
Oh, I don’t mind a vacant room;
I’m better on my own.

And if you think that I can change
and come out of my shell,
then I can tell you that you’re nuts
and you don’t me well.

There are some people that I like.
I’m sure there are a few.
Well, now that I give it some thought,
there’s maybe one or two.

And that is probably stretching it.
In fact, I can’t name one.
‘Cause I don’t even like myself,
when all is said and done.

But that’s okay, I’ll live with that.
I’ve always been this way.
I’ll never change the way I am
until my dying day.

Hey, wait a second. What is that?
A party’s going down?
Hell, I have nothing else to do.
Let’s go and paint the town.

I’m tired of this sad sack act.
I need to have some fun.
Yeah, that is what I really need,
when all is said and done.
