In less than a Month Three-week Challenge

in a second, a moment
once upon a time
like in a fairy tale,
Sam Adams’s life changed.

For in that moment,.
In that second,
In that minute,
In that instant,

On that date,
In September, 1982,
He met the lady, of his dreams,
Who had haunted him for year-long years.


Sam Adams
Was on a holiday
Gone to Korea
On a lark.

Hoping to meet
The lady of his dreams
Whom he was sure
Was in Korea, waiting for him.

Everything changed
When she walked
Off a bus
Into his life.

Becoming his wife
Taking charge of him
That was the date
He met his fate.

He proposed three days later
She became his wife in less than a month.
And they remained married
For 40 years and counting.

Based on a true story – but in my story I met her after serving in the Peace Corps and then teaching ESL for a year at an US army base in Korea. Proposed three days later and we married six weeks later than a month, and have been married for over 40 years. But to fit the prompt he was on holiday and they married in less than a month.
