A poem about winter
Winter is on my tongue
With the first dancing flakes
Of the season’s first snow
Which glistens and sparkles
Along the streets and sidewalks

Winter is on my tongue
With every gentle breeze
That twirls the snowflakes
In circles and spins them about
Like ballet dancers on a frosted stage

Winter is on my tongue
With every bitter wind
That chills to the bone
Every wayfarer and wanderer
Under setting sun and streetlight glow

Winter is on my tongue
With every cheerful snowman
In his fancy tophat and scarf
And with every snowwoman
With her warm shawl and cozy mittens

Winter is on my tongue
As families come together
Gathered under their roofs
By crackling fires and candlelight
With much cheer and merriment

Winter is on my tongue
When the brutal snowstorms
Bring heavy drifts several feet high
And thick ice covers the streets
And brings power lines low

Each season comes and goes
Always with something new and bold
No season is ever the same
With all of this and so much more
Winter is on my tongue
