Each and every day
I have to do a good deed.
Yeah, each and every day.
‘Cause that’s what I’m supposed to do.
I always act that way.

I like to do it early
so I can get it done.
‘Cause if I’m really honest here,
it’s really not much fun.

My mother makes me do it.
She made me take a vow.
She said that if I do good deeds
that I’ll get through somehow.

Yeah, I will go to heaven.
At least, she said I could.
That’s if I always do good deeds
just like a good boy should.

I always use my manners,
say please and thank you, too.
I hold the door for someone else
like I’m supposed to do.

It isn’t always easy
and sometimes I’ll forget.
But every day I do my best.
I haven’t missed one yet.

Oh, sometimes when I’m lazy,
I’ll go and make a mess.
Then my good deed is easier;
I’ll clean up and confess.

But I’ll just keep on trying.
You know I might as well.
I may not go to heaven but
I know I don’t want hell.
