This is more to George Greene's story, Of couse done for fun. This is unedited... |
POV: George Green In the end of days George had always seen himself as a good father. Even though he had help raising his children he did in a way did it on his own. Despite what his eldest son Alex has to say. He would stay up late to go to work and get up early to make them breakfast. Just to see them off to school and go back to work once more. His only breaks were on the weakened and even that was rare. He hates to admit it but he never saw his children perform in after school activities. But would send one of his officers to cheer them on. George understands it's not the same when he's not around. But at least they weren't alone. Even for a small town like Georgia, Texas there's still a lot of activity. Especially this week. He didn’t know then but the end was surely near. Georgia,Texas like everywhere else started to experience some sort of flu. Unlike the common cold this was very contagious. To a point where the town had to be quarantined. George took the orders and sealed the town people from leaving the area. Keeping his mean on duty. Only those who had to work while those who did not stayed at home. This took a toll not only to the people but his family as well. He had to leave his kids at home while he worked. George supposed it wasn’t really different but the idea that his children were forced to stay was sickening especially since he tried to get his youngest out. Since he rarely goes out anymore. As weeks turned into months it seemed that whatever contagion there was had gone. No more reports seemed to be coming out. Still there was percussion for the town's safety. The schools were still not yet open and some businesses stayed closed. So a lot of the town threw parties to keep themselves entertained. Everyone but George and his men took a break. Even though the town was clear it seemed that sickness seemed to have mutated somehow. Like before reports from other countries had occurred. That the sick began to act insane. They would freeze in a spot and stare into space. Their nose will bleed as they begin to say random fraze. No one knew what was going on. George was pleased on the matter of what had happened to the next door counties. But at least it didn’t happen to him. So even if the world was coming to an end George would still go home to see his boys. POV: George Greene Before the end He was still dressed in his uniform when he came home late at night. He saw the mess on the floor and food still on the table. He knew NIckolas would have made him a plate as he tried to wait for him to get back home. So it made him happy to see his son laying on the sofa. He was covered up by his bed sheet. Probably Alex. He smiled to himself as he still remembered how the boy used to beg to stay up late. He finally decided to let him sleep. He took his plate his son had made and couldn’t help but laugh when he saw two slices of pizza. “Of course,” he says. He knew he couldn’t say anything since Alex was definitely the one who ordered it. But knowing his son he knew he loved to eat the cold slices for breakfast. So, he fought his hunger and put the slices back in the fridge. He decided to go take a shower and go straight to bed. He took off his radio and hanged it by the door. Where he always put it. Along with his keys and badge number. He went to the shower and began to undress. He took a showere trying to wash the day away. He knew he would only have a few hours of sleep. But then he remembered it was the weekend. George sighed knowing he would be able to sleep longer hours. When he was done the mirror had fogged and the room was covered in steam. George dried himself and got dressed before dropping dead. The morning came when Alex started to play his music loudly. He always did it every weekend and well George hated it. He got up and looked at the time, rubbing his eyes when he realized he only had four hours of sleep. George was a bit annoyed. But still he got up and headed to the kitchen. He looked like a mess as he turned the radio down. 'Isn't it a little too early for a private concert?’ he said jokingly. He already knew Alex wouldn't like such jokes. Especially since he turned down his music. George then looked over at his youngest. He didn’t seem to be annoyed as he ate his cereal. “So, How did you sleep Nicky?” Nick didn’t reply. He didn’t even bother to look up at his father. He calls out to Nick once more. But it soon hits him, he is not wearing his hearing aid. George bangs on the counter making his bowl shake, he motions to his ear as if saying “ Turn on your hearing aid” but before he could say anything else the phone rings. He goes and checks the number out “Of course work.” he answers it. “I know, it’s your day off but it's an emergency at the hospital and we need you now.” by the tone of his voice it sounded dire. He quickly got dressed and was about to head for the door. His boys seemed to be upset at the fact that he was going on his day off. Especially Alex, “Look I know, But it's an emergency can you just watch him until tonight.” He knew his eldest son was about to go to a senior party. But honestly he still had time. “I will be back I swear” he tried to reassure his son. POV: Alexander The day prior Alexander had reminded his father about the high school senior party. Since they couldn’t have a prom they decided to do something different. He had reminded his dad for almost two weeks so he decided to celebrate early by playing music and making breakfast. But when his father turned down the radio his mood quickly soured. Something about him just boiled his blood. “ Come on dad, it's just music?” he rolled his eyes as took out the leftover pizza from the fridge, unwrapping it from the foil. As he began to eat the slice he noticed how he tried to speak to Nick. He hated that he would remind him to put on his hearing aid just to ignore him when he does. He saw him go get the phone only to come back in uniform. “NO!” Alex shouted. “ You said you didn’t work today!’ His father tried to apologize to him but that bastard knew what he did. “ I told you a week beforehand” he continued to raise his voice at Him. only to have his father not listen to a word he said. He left to work and there stood Alex watching over Nick again. Nick didn’t know what was going on or the words that they said but he could feel it in the air that something did happen. Alex couldn’t help but smile trying to reassure him that everything was going to be okay. “It will be the two of us.” He didn't want to show his brother how disappointed he truly was. But his attitude changed. Nick looked at Alex and signed as he spoke “It's okay if you go, I won't tell dad” Alex was still unsure he didn’t want to leave his brother alone. Well not for that long after all. But in the end he did agree. So he quickly got dressed and headed out the door. Leaving Nick alone. The party wouldn’t start for a couple of hours but he didn’t want to get caught by one of his fathers guard dogs. Alex had decided to go to his friend Jacobe's home. As they waited they watched movies and played video games. He would message his brother from time to time to check up on him. Of course he would ignore his fathers calles. He found it strange that he was calling more than once while working. But he thought he was only going to apologize and remind them he was going to run late. An hour or two had passed and so he decided to call back but there was no reply. He took it as if his father was upset at him for not answering. He thought he could call again late. In the end he did forget to call his father. Soon it was time for the party to begin so a few friends came to Jacob's home to all drive there. As they drove they noticed the traffic and road blocks ahead. Alex and his friends didn’t care much for it. When Jacob said that he knows a short cut they took it. Passing police cars and other emergency vehicles. Alex couldn’t help but to look; he wondered what was going on and for once worried about his father. He hated to admit it but something was going on in the town. But neither him or his friends could point it out. They decided to go to the party and maybe relax. “It's a Saturday night, what do you expect?’ Jacob jokes. Alex wasn’t sure but still he wanted to enjoy the party. As an hour went in he decided to check on his brother through text. But no reply. He then heard screaming coming from somewhere on the dance floor. The dance floor was dark but flashing lights did illuminate the room of strangers. It was hard to tell where the screams were coming from. Out of nowhere a woman in a blue dress comes upon Jacob. She seemed to be drunk with a dark fluid covering her dress. As she got closer it came apparent she was hurt and covered in blood. Alex tried to help but she bit Jacob. In fear Jacob pushed the woman away as she pulled his flesh away from his neck. Alex quickly got his friend as he called out for help. Then Alex and the rest of his friends decided to take him to the hospital. As they ran toward their car however they noticed more and more people running out. They also noticed how many were attacking others. They drove quickly out of the area. Trying to avoid hitting anyone with the car. POV: George the absent father George had gotten to the hospital when he got their place packed by its town people. They were in bad shape. Some of them looked gray while others were bleeding. He covered his mouth and nose. The smell of sweat, blood and vomit filled the air. He was thinking of going back; he feared catching whatever the hell this is. Before he could turn back he was walled out by a fellow police officer "Boss, Over here" it was Henry who called. A shorter officer who just joined the ranks two weeks ago. "What is it, what's going on around here?" The rookie didn't say anything new. "Look you just gotta come I - '' He was cut off by a scream. George followed the sounds. It was coming from a patient attacking a nurse. Her white uniform is now painted with blood. George tried to push the man away from her only to get his focus on himself. Which gave time for the nurse to run out of the room. He soon recognized the attacker as Mr Cane. A neighbor of theirs. "Cane, " George said Calmly. "You have to calm down," the man was snarling at him. He turned to see the rookie who was frozen at the doorway. Annoyed, George called out to him, snapping whatever though he had. "I need your help to handcuff him," he yelled out. The rookie tried to restrain him with the help of George and did it successfully. But with the mixture of it all he was bitten by the man."oh fuck, he bite me" George went to look at the Rookie hand "You will be okay, it happens all the time. Just go and get it bandaged. I'll take care of this." He motions to the man, who refuses to back down. George tried to communicate with Can but he grew more aggressive. Then more screaming in the halls. The sheriff quickly ran to the halls and more people were everywhere. They were attacking and biting everyone. A woman took notice of him and started to chase him in fear he ran down the hall trying to get away from her and others. The sheriff ran into some back rooms and boarded up the door. Banging from the other side did terrify him. He wanted to call his boys to make sure they were okay. So he called Alex, but there was no answer. He tried to call home. He got the same result. He needed to get out quickly. POV: Nick end Earlier that day Nick turned on his hearing aids and turned on the television. He sat on the floor watching his series reruns. During the day he would get texts from his brother. As he watched the TV he began to daze off and soon fell asleep on the living room floor. As he slept he would get more messages from his father and brother. But he couldn't hear it. As the world began to end around the boy he continued to sleep soundly and peacefully until there was a bang on the kitchen door. Nick couldn't hear it as the sound got louder and louder. But when he woke he found someone standing in the living room staring down at him. Nick thought it was his father coming home early. "Dad?" The stranger rushed at him pinning him to the ground. Nick tried pushing the stranger off. He kicked and screamed. As Nick put out his hand to push the stranger away from him. The man took a bite one his arm. The pain made him scream louder and the man bit deeper, almost tearing out a chunk of flesh from his arm. |
