The Book of Truth

Andria couldn’t decide which book to buy from the book sale. She only had enough for one, because she wanted to go to the movies later, but she really wanted two. She was trying to make a decision, then hope the other one didn’t sell so she could get it next week from the left over table. She loved collecting her favorite books so she could read them over and over. She just couldn’t decide which of these two was her favorite, just in case the other the sold today also.

Suddenly a voice, “Have you read this book?”

She glanced first at the book... one of the two she was deciding between! She immediately panicked! Somehow her brain decided this was her favorite, even though she knew, deep down, it was because someone else was interested in it!

“Ah,” she started, looking up at the person, who suddenly revealed himself as the best looking guy she had ever seen, and fond of reading, too! She had to catch herself, and shut her mouth, before she drooled!

“Ah,” she started again, “Yes, I have read that.”

“Is it any good? I’m looking for a good book for my sister, I don’t read much myself. You know except comics and required reading, and that stuff. I’m more sporty. I like to be outside and use up my energy,” he smiled.

As he babbled that sentence out, Andrea lost a lot of the attraction for him. Not a reader, sporty... she was not sporty at all... she preferred inside...”

She picked up another that she already had a copy of. “This one is better.”

“Oh thanks,” he said, and then he smiled.

They married right out of high school. Just celebrated their fiftieth anniversary. Sometimes opposites not only attract, they also work.
