The Amazing Twins

“What is that?” Kerry said to her twin sister Terry. Well, not in words, the twins were not good with words yet. They had just barely gotten Mommy and Daddy out, as “Mumumum’ and ‘Daaadada.’ However, with each other they used a different language.

Terry looked at a large bag on the floor. “Let’s go see!”

Though their space was child proof, they’d gotten out of their own space when their parents were not looking. Truth be told, their parents were asleep, it was after midnight.

As they got to the bag, they noticed a man standing nearby holding some of Mom’s silver dishes. He saw them too, and froze. So, they crawled right past the bag and over to him. Kerry and Terry were not shy.

“Do you think he’ll play with us?” Terry asked her sister as they looked up at the man looking down at them.

“I don’t know, he looks afraid,” Kerry said.

“What does that mean?” Terry asked, watching the man quietly put the dishes back, and then slowly walk over to his bag.

“You know like when we touch things that Mom doesn’t want us to and she gets that look on her face. That’s called afraid.”

“Oh! Let’s make him know that we want to play!”

“OK!”

Both babies started crawling slowly toward the man. As he caught sight of them, his eyes got wide. He jumped up and raced out the front door, shutting it behind him.

The next day, their parents found the bag on the floor filled with their stuff. They bragged to everyone! Weren’t their twins amazing for their age!

They never did figure out how the girls got things off the shelves... but boy, weren’t they amazing!

The thief refused to ever watch The Shining again.
