The Lost Army of Cambyses

Nobody will ever find it.

Nobody will ever find the location of Cambyses and his lost army. Already the crocodiles of Ra and Osiris feast on the souls of those that dared to enter our lands, that dared to enter the sacred land of Khemet. The Persians were nothing new as foreign invaders, but we Egyptians always rose and stood up against foreign tyrants. Barbarians from outer lands had no idea, no respect for our culture and our Gods.

But there was always a deeper secret that lay when Cambyses's army disappeared from this world. Many questions were asked. Did their One God take them? Were they so barbarous that it was said that this army was meant to be a mighty host of nations from all across the known world? Or was Cambyses's army escorting a horde of treasure that had been looted from the other nations? Spoils of War? Conquest?

None of those questions could be answered. They would never.

Yet I ran into the desert, being hunted down by spies from the Persian King. For days, I had journeyed through the endless desert after endless desert. Locusts had fallen out of the sky, and seeing my long-gone daughter, now deceased from this world, broke my heart. The ray of the Sun meant that Ra had been displeased me as I had sweated for days without end. Without water. Without food. Without a sense of who I was. By the time I could stand, my feet and body burned.

Yet nobody will find the hidden manuscript that I hold in my hands. It is the key to unlocking another realm. It is a weapon that no ordinary human can use. Not even Pharoah himself can use it. I was never from this world in the first place.
