“What do you think our chances are?”

“We haven’t got a chance.”

“Oh, Dad! I’m so sorry I dragged you into this!”

“Danny what’s rule number two?”

“Ah, one is always make a plan, two is.... always have a back-up plan. But... you just said we haven’t got a chance!”

“Well rule number three is, if at first you don’t succeed, never give up. In other words, we don’t leave this to ‘chance’ we keep trying new plans until we get find a plan that works!”

“You never really give up do you?” Danny said.

“Stubborn as a mule, that’s what your mother says,” he laughed. “So we can’t cook our way out of a paper bag, as shown by our practically lethal spaghetti dish. We seem not to have any skills at baking, if this sorry excuse for a pie is to be taken seriously. What other kind of foods can you enter in the contest?”

Danny sighed, “I don’t know, and he took a sip from his water bottle.

“That’s it!!”

“What?”

“Drinks!”

“Drinks?”

“Yes! Drinks like amazing smoothies or the best milkshake, drinks!!”

“Dad! You’re a genius!”

They didn’t win the “Making food with Dad” contest, but six years later they made their first million with the “Happy Energy” drinks they developed together after having so much fun working on the contest entry.

Their company motto is “Never give up!”
