High Priest Marmaduke

Revelling in his righteousness
was the High Priest Marmaduke
falling short of his expectations
would earn a sharp rebuke

A stickler for high frequency
and not to mention form
he's sing the mass three times a day
come rain, or snow, or storm

His passion was for fashion
with robes cut of the best
if haute couture earned pixie points
he most assuredly was blessed

The curates they all feared him
for he worked them with a will
and his holy words of wisdom
he'd strive ceaseless to instill

As his congregations dwindled
death and taxes took their toll
Marmaduke moved among them
offered loud prayers for each soul

Though his eyes were set on heaven
he wasn't going anytime soon
this High Priest was hale and hearty
from ill health he seemed immune

He sang his hymns with passion
said prayers both loud and clear
read the bible very closely
High Priest without a peer.
