The Milky Decision

I thought it would be so cute if I put a ribbon around my cat’s neck. My new boyfriend was coming to my apartment for the first time and I wasn’t sure how he felt about a cat. He liked dogs, but I didn’t know if that meant he liked pets in general, or he liked dogs, and not cats. I’ve seen it go both ways.

Everything else was ready, but I had to run to the store at the last minute for cheese in case he wanted cheese with the crackers. I was trying too hard to please, I know, but he was special.

Tabby looked so cute in the bow. I made it out of stretchy ribbon so it wouldn’t be dangerous if it caught on anything. But still I was afraid she’d pull it off while I was gone, so I distracted her with a nice bowl of milk. She loves milk.

I got back just as Frank arrived, and we walked in together. There was Tabby, not quite as cute, she’d gotten her bow untied, the ends dragging on the floor, and they seemed wet...

Frank immediately started gagging, “What is that smell?”

I zoned in, yes there was a smell, Tabby had knocked over the milk, and in the sunny window, and also, apparently dragged her untied ribbon through it then run all over my apartment! My apartment smelled like milk ranging from warm to putrid depending on how close to the sunny window you got. Frank must be very sensitive to smells, he immediately ran for the bathroom and threw up.

Well, I that was the last time I saw Frank. However, I have concluded it was probably for the best.

I’m not actually a very good housekeeper in real life, truth be told...
