tribute to a lost pet first found after a storm
You came out of nowhere
Wandering in the brush
A product of what no one should dare
A kitten abandoned too early
Toward your cries we made a rush
Rainbows were the best after storms
Until one day in June that was better than the rest
Your tiny self so exhausted, I remember
You slept so peaceful on my chest
From that moment on, how could I let go
This was now the home i wanted you to know

Your personality became apparent
A rambunctious little thing,
We lovingly referred to as Brat
But who knew in three in a half years
Things would end the way they began
Only now with tears
Back to nowhere you went
A short time that felt heaven sent
