In Praise of Dawn

Even in the sting
of winter's cold wind
I delight at the sight
of dawn's first light.

It scatters the soar echoes
of last night's fears,
and transforms yesterday's tears
into hope's rainbow.

In the light of a new day,
my prayers become the wings
that lifts my soul out
of the field of my doubt..

Dawn's light ignites
the colorful flames of joy
that destroy
the midnight of despair.
