THE BOYS OVER FLOWERS
"Dude, what are you doing? I have to submit this assignment today or I'll get crushed."
Aju closed Goffrey's assignment book and sprang from there ,by holding him by hand.
"What's the matter man?" Goffrey was getting angry. The assignment wasn't finished.
Suddenly Aju stopped and smiled.
"Goffrey, my man. Belvin saw a beautiful girl.We have to see her.That's why we are in a hurry.
"Why didn't you say this earlier? I thought we were going for something else."
Goffrey was very happy. He asked:
"Which class?"
"Second year Civil Engineering and here we are."
They reached the destination. Belvin and Danish were there. Belvin came to them and said:
"Dude, you said this college is cursed because of the absence of beautiful girls. You were wrong,man."
Goffrey's face was shining with a smile. He peeped through the door but was unaware of the position of the girl.
"Where is she? I can't see her."
Belvin pointed out the position. With shivering ,heart he looked there. And then...........................................
For the first time in his life, Goffrey felt respect for Belvin. Because normally Belvin has a poor taste in the choice of girls. But that girl........
It is very difficult to describe that girl with 'WORDS'. And now you think that she is an extremely beautiful girl. But she was not.
A white angel with a human cloak. I already told you, she was not so beautiful. Who said the angel was a beautiful creature? No one has ever seen an angel. In my mind, an angel will have her appearance.
Goffrey looked at her for a while. At that time Aju came near him.
"Where is that girl?"
Goffrey showed her. But Aju was disappointed.
"What the heck? That 'whitewashed' creature! Oh man..I expected someone beautiful. She is nothing."
But something happened at that moment. He saw someone else.
"Belvin, dude come here. Who is that?"
Aju was pointing a girl who was sitting near that 'angel'. A white slim girl with wide open eyes.
Aju struggled to hold his teeth in his mouth. He was smiling with his 32 yellow tooth (I don't know whether the count is true. Maybe someone has already broken some of it).
"I like her. She got something."
Belvin agreed with him.(Never show a beautiful girl to your friend. There is a chance of getting cheated, so BEWARE....)
Suddenly this voice came like a bombshell.
"Shame on you guys. You haven't seen girls. My status will be affected if I'm standing here."
It was Danish who stood there silent for a long time. Everyone says Danish was an honourable man who wasn't interested in 'BIRD WATCHING'.

Aju took Danish's hands in his palms and said:
"Dude, take a look at my girl. Oh! what a beauty!"
Danish uttered with contempt."Your girl!"
Interval time was over. They went to their classroom.
The Gang of Four-Aju,Belvin,Danish and Goffrey
They were sitting in nearby benches. It was comfortable for discussion.
Goffrey said:
"I want to know her name."
Aju replied:
"Name of that 'whitewash'?"
"Yeah man. We can ask the name of that 'Skeleton' girl too"
Aju was happy.
Belvin:"But who will ask?"
Aju:"You'll ask. right?
Belvin:"No no. I don't like asking the names of strange people." (Especially Girls)
Danish laughed and said:
"You are all afraid of girls .(Again) Shame on you guys."
The class was over. Goffrey was very anxious to ask the name of that 'angel'. He ran towards the Civil class by holding Danish. (You know why)
"Oh my sweet Danish, please ask her name?"
"What? I can't. I'm not a cheap scum to do these types of cheap acts."
But provoking has its effects.
"Scary little Danish, Scary little Danish."
It was Belvin.
Anyway, those words touched Danish's soul.
Belvin's idea worked out.
Danish said:
"I'll ask. Once and forever. I'll prove who is scarier than anyone."
At that time 'angel' came out of the class.
"Danish, come on bro."
Danish followed that girl. He asked:
"What's your name?"
The 'Angel' was a low voiced creature. Almost all angels are like that (Reference:Wikipedia,section: Angels).
No one heard anything except Danish.
When she was gone, Goffrey and gang surrounded Danish. By showing his 32 tooth (Again I'm not sure about the count) Goffrey asked:

"What's her name?"
Danish's reply was very strange.
"I don't know."
Everyone was shocked.
Then what the hell did he ask?
Goffrey was getting angry.
"What do you meant by 'I don't know'? I can't understand. That's why I'm asking."
Danish was stammering.
"I..I didn't hear her clearly. It was something like 'Lin'. I told you already that I don't like doing these types of stupid acts."
"Dang it, Danish. Dang it"
Belvin and Aju were laughing uncontrollably.
"I knew this will happen. Scary little Danish" (Danish was not a little fellow. He was 'little' fattier than others)
Goffrey said with determination:
"I'll ask her name tomorrow. I'll show you all."
So why didn't he ask her name today by himself?
I think he suffering from 'Caligynephobia'.(If you don't know what it is just Google it. If you found out the meaning there may be a little contradiction on what I said earlier. If you're wise enough you'll find out. I don't think you are......Just joking)
From that day onwards these four guys started 'patrolling' the second year Civil Engineering class during intervals and free periods (Sometimes Danish was absent).
Oh, I forgot to mention about the girl who was spotted by Aju and Belvin.
Belvin was the one who asked her name.
There is nothing interesting in that incident.
"What's your name?"
"Isha"
"Full name please." (I don't know for what purpose!)
"Isha Raj"


Belvin was very disappointed after that day. Goffrey asked why.
"What's the matter, dude?"
"Dude, I'm not interested in that girl anymore"
"Who? That skeleton. Why?"
"She is not my type. I always wanted to love someone who belongs to my religion. Unfortunately, she's not"
"Leave it, dude. We'll find another one."
"Not a problem. Your angel is good enough."
"(You swine..) Super."


THE BETRAYAL (PART 1)
One day Goffrey was talking about his 'angel'.
"I want to find her name by any means"
Belvin replied:
"Ask someone in her class"
Goffrey was blabbering. "Oh my angel, where is your home?"
"Malampuzha"
That was the twist.
Everyone turned around. The voice came from our honourable Danish. It happened unknowingly from him while doing his maths homework.
Goffrey came to him.
"What did you just said?"
"What?"
"How did you know that she's from Malampuzha?"
"No no. I was talking about a tour to Malampuzha."
Goffrey tightened his hold on Danish's neck.
"Tell me the truth, how did you know about her?"
Lies will not survive forever. The fake face of our honourable Danish was falling apart.
Danish admitted that he was guilty. He started the true story related to the 'angel'.
"Dude, I said, I didn't hear the name of that girl. I lied. I heard it very clearly. That very day I searched her on Facebook."
"Then?"
"Then I sent her a friend request."
Goffrey again tightened his hold on Danish's neck.
"You fat little swine, you sent her a request?. How dare you? You cheated us .....you little monster."
Goffrey was very angry about this.
After a while, he became cool,then he asked:
"What's her name?"
Here comes the most awaited name of the century.
"Linda Thomson"
At last ,she arrives-The Angel
Now we have her name and we will see who this 'mysterious angel' is.
A girl from a beautiful village in Malampuzha. A Catholic Christian girl.
She is very different from other girls. She is not so social. But she is not reluctant to speak with or mingle with other people. Linda has only a few numbers of friends. Her favourite hobby is watching Korean movies and series. Her favourite series is 'Boys over flowers'.
P.S
Goffrey is also a great fan of Korean movies. His favourite movie is 'My sassy girl'. He is also a bit of 'non-social'.
They are 'some' similarities between Goffrey and Linda.

THE ODOURS OF ONAM

Here come the days of beautiful, colourful Onam .
Exams are over. Everyone was preparing for the grand celebration of Onam.
Goffrey was not interested in these types of celebrations. For him this year's Onam celebration was unavoidable. He came there only to see Linda. But he wasn't the only one who came with the same intention. Aju was also hoping to see Isha.
College atmosphere was filled with the fragrance of flowers. The whole campus was colourful with the presence of girls in Kerala sari and boys in kasavu mundu.
Goffrey and Aju were very anxious to see their girls (Belvin and Danish were busy with their Onam preparations).To see them they went to the second year Civil Engineering class. The entire class was filled with girls in Kerala sari (I don't know about the boys.I don't care).
But one girl was entirely different from others. That girl was wearing a beautiful orange sari.
That was Isha.
Aju was very happy to see her ("Oh my God what a beauty!!").His face was brightening with a smile. But Goffrey was not happy.
Linda wasn't there.
"Maybe she's late." He thought.
He went to her class several times, but disappointed.
"Damn it. Why I came here? For nothing. Maybe she has gone home. Why should she stay here? For watching these stupid celebrations. I was wrong. I'm always wrong."
He tried to cover his sadness from Aju.
Goffrey attended the celebrations with an artificial smile. Aju was very happy. All those sounds of music and songs didn't have any effect on him. The mind is not happy. That is the reason.
Aju wanted to explore everything. He said:
"Goffrey, come on. We should visit every class."
They visited many, but Goffrey wasn't focusing on anything.
At that time they saw a crowd in front of the seminar hall.
"What's that?"
"Come, we will see."
There, Onam competitions were going on.
Kerala Kesari competition was the first one. It was for boys. Aju and Goffrey stood there for a while.
Second item was Malayali manga.It was for girls.
Each girl came to the stage with a smile and they held their hand in 'Namaskara' position. Here too Goffrey wasn't focusing on the programme.
Suddenly Aju came near Goffrey and said:
"Look, there's Linda."
I told you early that it was very difficult to describe Linda. Like that, Goffrey's reaction at that time was also indescribable. It's impossible to translate the happiness of Goffrey into words. He was excited. Very excited.
The sudden removal of disappointment creates happiness.
"And that's why she was not in the class.She was preparing for this competition."
There were several girls on the stage. But he was only focusing on Linda (Naturally).
I don't know whether Linda saw Goffrey. Maybe she noticed him. Because he and his friends were always there on the premises of her class during intervals.
Goffrey wanted to congratulate her (But you know 'Caligynephobia').
After the competition, he and Aju were searching Linda outside the seminar hall. But they didn't see her.
"Where is she? Did she go to the class? So early? I don't think so."
"She will be here." Aju said.
He was right. She was there. And she saw them and chanted this in her mind
"Oh my God, why are they keep coming? While college time-In front of my class. Now here. Why are you not giving me a state of peace,you monsters."
While watching the premises Aju saw Linda.
But Goffrey didn't. The problem with Goffrey is , he always gives little attention to his surroundings.
And suddenly Goffrey saw her. Due to this surprising view, he became very nervous.
"Damn it."
Aju and Goffrey sprang from the scene.(Brave guys!)
Belvin and Danish were busy preparing 'pookkalam'. When it was over, Aju told about the happenings. Both were excited.
Belvin said:
"Come on guys-Final destination->2nd YEAR CE."
When they arrived, Linda wasn't in the class. She came to the class after a while.
Goffrey was only focusing on her (You can call that 'Scanning').And Aju was doing the same on Isha.
Linda noticed that he was looking at her (scanning).
She joined with other girls for 'Thiruvatirakkali'.
Anyway, she kept an eye on him.
"These guys won't leave me. I hope a thunderbolt will strike them."(Oh that's so cruel)
After some time the four guys went to their class. They joined with the rest of the class for celebrations.
                   After the celebrations, while returning to the home, Goffrey was thinking about Linda.
" In her absence, I have enough memories to survive the days of Onam vacation."


HOW TO SAY "I LOVE YOU" ?
After the Onam vacations ,classes started.
One day Aju asked his three friends:
"How to say 'I love you'?"
Honourable Danish replied:
"What are you talking about?"
"Exactly what I said- How to say 'I love you'?"
Belvin laughed and said:
"Just say that man. That's enough. No formalities. Just say the damn thing."
"Dude, seriously. I want to open my heart before Isha."
On hearing those words, Goffrey charged.
Like explaining a physics theory he started.
"I never said anything like that before.But I will explain.
Almost 97.83% of girls won't accept you if you'll say 'I love you' without any proper introduction.(I don't know from where did he get this data).
You have to progress slowly. This can be achieved by following your girl on the way, by trying to getting her attention, etc. After doing all these things, the probability for acceptance is 57.42% (He is not mentioning the source of this data .I think it is unreliable)."
Belvin replied:
"Maybe he is right. But first, we need to know about them. We have to show them who we are.How can we do this?"
Goffrey replied:
"I know. There is an old technique reserved for seniors."
Ragging
Everyone accepted this solution. Ragging helps us to interact with juniors 'officially'.
Aju was very happy. He said:
"We have to rag Isha today"
"Will you rag?"
"I will. I'm an expert in ragging."
Goffrey interfered.
"Our ragging must be inaugurated with Linda. She thinks that, she is the most beautiful girl in this college. We have to 'correct' her misunderstanding."
"We will correct it."
Goffrey said:
"My memory is not so strong. So the questions which are going to be asked must be written on a paper (What!).So that I can memorize everything."
Belvin: "What type of questions will be asked?"
Goffrey: " We will start by asking her name. Then we will proceed with her branch, family details, Date of birth, etc."
Aju: "Then we will ask -why did you take this course."
Danish laughed uncontrollably.
"Guys, what are you going to do? Conducting an interview or surveying for a ration card. What is this stupidity?"
"So you're not coming?"
Danish replied:
"This is crazy. I'm not a madman."
Belvin said:
"We will do it guys. We will accomplish our objectives."
Goffrey replied:
"Yes. But first,we have to prepare the plan. Who will call her? Can you do that Belvin."
"Done."
"I will start the questionnaire and you guys will continue."
Goffrey continued.
"This is our plan. We'll be there on the veranda near the seminar hall. She is going to the hostel through that way (Found out from a little investigation). We'll flight after the last period.
They waited for the last bell. When the bell rang, they ran towards the destination.
They reached the veranda.
Goffrey said:
"Stick to our plan. Belvin, don't forget to call her."
After a while they saw her coming. She was walking very slowly. Everyone's heart started to beat strongly (Caligynephobia).
Seminar hall veranda was not a smart choice for ragging. Because many teachers were passing through that way.If something goes wrong, remember suspension is coming.
Luckily no one noticed them. On the way, Linda met some of her friends. After some chitter-chatter, she started walking. She saw them. But tried to avoid them.
When she reached near them, Belvin called her:
"Hey you, come here. We need to talk."
She came to them without any protest.(Good girl)
Goffrey prepared his arrows of questions, memorized them and started.
"What's your name?"
"Linda"
Belvin interfered.
"Full name?" (I don't know why he is always asking the full name)
"Linda Thomson"
Suddenly Aju asked:
"Why did you take this course?"
Bad timing.
Belvin and Goffrey shot a sharp look at him.
Without any emotions she replied:
"Just took the course. Not any particular reason."
A wise move came from Belvin (Later you'll know why this was a wise move )
"Your date of birth?"
"October 10"
"year?"
"1996"
He thought: "Elder than me. But younger than Goffrey. Damn it"
Goffrey is back:
"You are coming from?"
"Malampuzha"
The questionnaire was over.
Belvin finished the so called 'ragging' aka interview:
"Now you can go. We'll meet again."
Linda went to the hostel without saying anything.
"Who the hell is he? 'We'll meet again' Oh God please sent that bolt immediately to kill those savages."
Linda thought.
Goffrey was very happy about the ragging.
"Thank you guys for realising this 'project'. Without your help, nothing was possible."
Aju said:
"And our next target is Isha."
"We'll do that."
After that, they went to their home. Goffrey was so relieved that he got an opportunity to talk with that girl.
"Now my watch ends."


THE BETRAYAL (PART 2)
Aju was so excited so that their first ragging attempt was a successful one. So he decided to rag Isha.
He made several plans for that but it wasn't successful. Because he was not confident enough (In other words,he wasn't brave enough) to rag that girl. He went to her class several times and returned like a dog went to the market (an old Malayalam proverb).
He asked many friends about the basics of ragging but didn't apply the obtained methods practically.
Ragging...only in dreams....poor boy
One day Belvin and Aju were returning from the library. On the way, they saw Linda. At that time, Belvin showed some uneasiness. He tried to hide from her. Goffrey was surprised by his behaviour.
"What's the problem, buddy? Why are you hiding?"
He replied:
"Dude, there is a problem. I'll discuss that later."
When Linda was gone ,Belvin was relieved.
Goffrey asked suspiciously:
"What's the matter?"
Belvin replied in a stammering manner.
"Dude, I did something you don't know."
"What's that?"
"I..I sent her the birthday wishes on Facebook."
Goffrey's emotions were changing. He was becoming angry.
"On her birth date, you sent her your birthday wishes. You too, Brutus. They must know about this. Come on let's go to the class."
They reached the class.
"Aju, Danish come on. One more traitor among us."
They wondered. Danish asked:
"What's the matter?"
Goffrey replied loudly.
"Dude, you got a partner. Another traitor. Betrayal part two. Do you want to know what happened?"
He told them everything.
Danish and Aju laughed.
Aju said:
"Oh my God, Belvin what have you done? You spoiled your reputation. Remember you're a senior."
Belvin replied:
"I don't care about my reputation."
On hearing those words, Goffrey became furious.
"Shut your bloody mouth. 'I don't care about my reputation'. Who cares about your reputation? You sent your birthday wishes to someone you met yesterday. We were friends for years. Did you know my birth date? Did you know Aju's birth date? Danish's birth date?"
"I know. I just forgot."
Goffrey got angrier.
"You know nothing, Jon Snow. You know nothing." (Reference: Game of thrones)
Danish interfered:
"Goffrey, leave it. Yeah, it's true that he did something terrible .Forget it."
Goffrey replied with fury:
"Shut your mouth, swine. You did know her name and you didn't tell us and sent her a friend request. And now you are supporting a follower of yours! Shut your mouth first."
Everyone went silent.

A DREAM OF LOVE
Aju loved Isha so deeply. But the ragging plan was ineffective. Anyway, he didn't stop following her.
         At first , Isha didn't even notice him. But slowly she found out that Aju was following her daily. She started to show the reactions of being followed. That was a consolation for Aju. He shared his romantic adventures with his friends.
         One day in the absence of Aju, they discussed about him.
Goffrey started the discussion:
"Guys, we have to do something in Aju's matter."
Belvin replied:
"How?"
Danish said:
"What if we take Aju to her directly?"
Belvin laughed and said:
"He will run from there. That's sure."
Goffrey suggested a solution.
"This is one plan. We need Isha alone. And we need to bring him to her unknowingly so that he won't run. He must be locked."
Danish extended his solution practically.
"If we want to bring him unknowingly in front of her, we have to take him by surprise. To hide her from him, we will close his eyes with a cloth."
Belvin said:
"So you're saying that we will bring Aju to her by surprise by binding his eyes with a cloth. Then we will bring her in front of him, so that he won't run. Excellent plan."
Danish said:
"This plan will work out only if we execute it carefully. I will find a way to get Isha alone."
According to the plan, Danish went to her class. Belvin and Goffrey blinded Aju's eyes with a cloth and brought him to her class premises on the matter of a fake surprise.
Danish came to them and said that everything is ok. Then he pointed out the location of Isha. Then Goffrey and Belvin brought him towards her and untied his band on the eyes and sprang from the scene.
When Aju opened his eyes and Isha was standing in front of him. Aju started to shiver. He cursed his friends for doing such a nasty thing on him.
"Oh my God, what have they done? What I'll do now?"
Isha and Aju stood silent for a few moments.
Isha started the conversation.
"Why did you call me? What do you have to say?"
Aju thought:
"Oh my God, what will I do?"
With an impulse he said those words. The most powerful three words of the world.
"I love you, Isha."
That was a moment of silence. No one spoke for a few moments. Aju was very anxious about the reaction of Isha. He experienced infrequent heart beating.
                   Isha went to the class without saying anything. With frightening steps,Aju followed her. She turned around, a moment before entering the class. She looked at him and came near him and said these words with a smile:
"I love you too."
That's it. That was the end of the journey for attaining love. Completed successfully.
Aju was in a semi-conscious state. He didn't know whether this was a dream or reality. It took him some moments to realise the situation.
After saying those words, she went to the class. Then Aju sprang to his class with the utmost excitement.
Three friends were in real tension about their 'experiment' with Aju.
         When he reached the class, he ran towards his friends and hugged them.
Belvin asked:
"What happened there?"
Aju laughed and said:
"Dude, she said that she loves me. Although I cursed you guys back there, I'm happy now. I still can't believe this thing."
Goffrey said:
"I already told you, Statistics don't lie."
Everyone hugged Goffrey and said:
"Our beloved statistics man."
All of them were happy. But..............................
                   Someone was happier more than anyone in their gang. He was inspired by this incident. The success of Aju's journey of love filled him with confidence. And now he is going to start his journey of love,without the knowledge of his closest friends.
Who is he? You'll see it soon.
Today is Friday. All students who are staying in the hostel were busy because they are going to their homes today.
After a little chatting with her friends, Linda went to the hostel to take her bags. She was alone.
When she reached the veranda near the seminar hall, she saw someone standing there.
A familiar face.
"Oh, that's the swine from the Gang of four. What is he doing here? No one is with him?."
Who was that? Guess, who is it?
It was him.
The one who started to betray his friends, by lying and sending a request to this girl.
None other than our Honourable Danish.
When she reached near him, he said to her in a low voice.
"I have to say something,Linda."
She replied without any emotion:
"What's that?"
Danish came closer.
"I was thinking for a long time whether this is an infatuation or real thing. Now I know.
Linda, I love you."
There weren't any silent moments that were present in Aju's case.
The reply was strong and sudden. Her hatred towards those boys (Gang of Four) flowed like lava coming out of a volcano (No mercy).
"I don't like you, monster. You're no different from the other boys who are very cunning about girls. You're nothing but a cheap shameless swine."
Oh, that's horrible.
I don't know whether any girl will reply like this. But she did. Solid and strong.
Maybe she was exhausted of them. Hated them.
The Gang of Four.
That made her reply harsh. It pierced his heart like a spear.
Poor boy.
Even though he was a person with a strong body, his heart wasn't strong enough. He wasn't capable of hearing such sharp words.
He didn't expect it. Aju's love story made him overconfident. He paid its price.
With a bleeding heart, he went from there.
Heart lost its rhythm.
No one has ever seen Danish in tears. But today was different from all the other days.
Tears of sadness rolled from his eyes.
He looked around. There wasn't anyone who knows him.
"Thank God. There is no one. Nobody has seen this."
He slowly walked away.
Suddenly.............
"boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"
Hey, who did that? Danish said there wasn't anyone in the surroundings.
Who is that?
Yes, as you expect it was them.
The Gang of Four
From where did they come? We'll see.
They came to Danish and laughed uncontrollably.
Goffrey started to reveal the secret of their 'hideous' arrival.
"What do you think, Danish? Every girl is like Isha. I told you already the statistical account. You ignored. Now suffer the pain of rejection."
Belvin asked:
"How did you know that Danish will be here?"
"I saw him sprang when the last bell rang. I followed him quickly and saw that he was heading this direction. Then I guessed. Remember, when we discussed about the path followed by Linda to the hostel, he took a special interest and enquired about it specifically.
I know this from the day of his first betrayal that, he had an interest in her. He lied to us and sent a request to her. Now caught with a red hand.
Belvin also had an interest in her. But he was not brave enough to express it to her."
Danish replied sadly:
"Stop Goffrey, I've suffered enough."
Goffrey smiled.
"Leave it my man. Rejection is a common thing in our life, especially proposal rejection. Whatever doesn't kill you, simply makes you stronger. Linda is a girl with a particular mindset. She won't fall into love easily.
Aju,Belvin and Goffrey hugged him.
Belvin said :
"We'll find a new girl, that's not a problem."
"And we will make him sad again."
The four guys went away.
The cycle of love story may or may not begin again.
