How my use of fairytales helped navigate my mind thru a dark time.
Let me be Alice in my dreams,
on my way to see the queen.

My merry friends come along,
to the kingdom of the backwards song.

The caterpillar and the cat,
help me find the hidden path.

The mad hatter I find along the way,
the hare comes out and wants to play.

My friends I see as my guests,
let my mind do the rest.

Fairytales can help me be
at ease with my reality.

The rabbit hole that I fell down,
the wonderland that I found.

Kidnapped to an awful lair,
a dreadful place where no one cares.

Brought to the queen and put on trial,
her harsh tone ends my denial.

The queen has had her final say,
in wonderland I must stay.

A place where I am full of doubt,
will she ever let me out.

A piece of cake I can't eat,
temptation that follows me.

All around this wonderhell,
the sun I see but I can't feel.

Lonely will I always be, in a place that forces me
to see how backward I've become, one lost soul,
a life undone.

Will I ever truly see the person that I used to be,
proving I can change myself, an image of the queen herself.

On my tour thru wonderland,
they put my future in my hands.

The twins, they come to see me thru
the maze of things that I must do.

To get me back to the life I had,
before my winding path turned bad.

The mad hatter shows his face again,
I tell him now we can't be friends.

The path that he has shown to me,
must be closed permanently.

Climbing up the rabbit hole, I see the light, I feel the glow
of a life I thought I lost, I had to pay a mammoth cost,
to get it back successfully, to be part of camaraderie.

Never again will I be in wonderland to see the queen.
I've learned my lesson, I promise that the rabbit will never bring me back.
