Into the darkness I have gone, I have always been

Expressionless

Down beyond
Wooded the line
Out there
Into the depths
Endless that forest
Within such darkness
Of forever’s shadow
A place known
Secret the adobe
Built with sticks
Burdened by stones
Made to look natural
Made to be unremarkable
Created by me and for me
An escape when I was a kid
My refuge as an adult
In that place
In that way
Truly am I safe
When everything else
Was and is chaos
Anyone else were
And are strangers
And when to no one
Or nothing else
Can I
Or have I ever been
Able to relate
I find solace in that place
Within those confines
Of such an escape
In that place
I am safe
People
So tedious
Such sheeple
Who they are why they are
Is bothersome at best
I fight to find reason
In what is clearly unreasonable
I live to understand
What makes one person
Hurt every other
And makes every other
Stand by and do nothing
But marvel in the horror
Of what others are capable of
Thus
I am here
Nor
Have I never left
Scared
In fear
The void around me grows
Nothingness is known
I see it for what it is
And what I made it to be
My heart is empty
My mind is overfilled
My sorrow knows no end
All that I have is this place
Way down here
Down beyond
Wooded the line
Deeper still
Into an endless forest
I am willing to go
I have always been
When I am hurting
When I am scared
I run to this place
The one built so long ago
And when I’m there I’m safe
If not from myself
At least from all else
You have never been
Nor will you ever go
You could not know
Words and such descriptions
Increasingly pointless
I can’t explain the fear
I can’t express the pain…
