Despite setbacks, I achieve my goal of becoming a wizard.
Immersed in all my books, I’ve
studied all the details, and I have
taken notes--watched movies by the score.
Hours of fantasy regarding the ways of wizards,
hoping that I could be a wizard O so desperately.
There was a kit I got to aid in such endeavors,
for becoming a wizard is my
one and only goal.

There is much pain, my wheels are spinning;
my goal of wizard status receding.  Though
I try and try I see no success; I feel like
I‘ve fallen into an abyss.  Since I can
recall I‘ve had this feeling; there
lived this wizard in my being.
Now a feeling overwhelms
me more, it is a feeling
that I understand,
one I cannot ignore.
The sun is setting, still
I remain, wizard of none.

I venture out at night so I can see starlight,
to view the velvet sky--the reaches of eternity.
The moon looms full and bright, it demands
attention; I see an eerie halo, a mist of
amber ‘round the moon.  Eyes fixed,
I’m mesmerized by moonlight
getting brighter; it seems to
pulse and flow into the
center of my soul.

I feel this is a new beginning;
in this odd moonlight I am reeling.
As I shut my eyes I feel this glow;
it is a feeling I have never known.
Now suddenly I perceive a power,
a hint of zeal, a surge of fervor.
With satisfaction in my heart I know
my goal has been achieved; I have
a brand new start.  By the light of
the moon, I have attained
wizardry height.
