We were rejected by silence.
We were silenced by the shame.
We were shamed into indifference.
Indifference became the game.

They gamed the world against us.
The world united to blame us.
Blamed by words that famed us.
Instead of the world, we named us.

Once, we were done naming ourselves.
We set out to naming out tasks.
One was to name everything they had done.
The others, don’t bother to ask.

Sometimes we scream into pillows.
It’s hard to let them near to us.
Never marry, never widows.
For what they took was dear to us.

If evil takes beyond measure.
Life extracts a pound of vengeance.
The scales will never be equal.
Never silent is the sentence.
