Contest entry for The Lighthouse contest
Prompt:

I know that my Redeemer lives and that in the end, he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh, I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
Job 19:25‭-‬27 NIV
https://bible.com/bible/111/job.19.25-27. NIV

We’ve turned away.
We’ve washed our hands.
We’ve lost our way
Throughout these lands.

Our once great nation’s
On shaky ground,
Where faithful leaders
Are scarcely found.

New gods are present.
We’ve gone astray
Worshipping idols
of Satan’s clay..

Oh, land of mine,
Return to Him!
Repent, confess, or
Your future’s grim.

Murder, malice,
Hate and lies
Bombard us daily
Before His eyes.

I know that my
Redeemer lives,

Through grace and mercy
He still forgives.

If we would just
Heed God’s word,
Then our petitions
Will yet be heard.

For in the end
My God will stand

And judge us all
Like grains of sand.
