A new taste sensation spreads to other worlds |
As I drift through the vacuum of black they call space, I recall long ago of this one unique place on a planet ‘round Betelgeuse* so far away where I gorged on their à la mode muffins one day. Now the tasty uniqueness of muffins so grand is compelling enough for a spaceman to land. So I did, and my taste buds achieved overload as I savored the glaze—Betelgeuse à la mode! Citric flavor, like lime--tart and tangy all right, yet along with said taste came another delight. Much like bacon with sugar in muffins of blue; when she asked if I wanted more, I said, “I do.” I told NASA these muffins were not in accord with the freeze-dried consumables I had on board. But so far as I know there’s no plan to do trade with the planet on which these good muffins are made. À la mode—how I like it when food’s up to date; a sensation to savor was space bound of late. In this ship called Antares through space lanes I soar longing Betelgeuse muffins of which I adore. I think many more planets have now come to know of the à la mode muffins from Betelgeuse dough. All the way I have dreams of glazed à la mode crust; fluffy muffins of Betelgeuse remain a must. * Betelgeuse (ˈbē-tᵊl-ˌjüs) is a red giant star. 24 Lines (Anapestic Tetrameter) Writer’s Cramp 6-23-19 |
